With profound grief and an irreparable sense of loss, the Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of India (AOMSI), Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Branch, mourns the untimely passing of Dr. Senthil Murugan, a distinguished maxillofacial surgeon, an exceptional teacher, a visionary microsurgeon, and above all, a compassionate human being.
He was an active and committed member of AOMSI, serving the association with unwavering dedication. He held the position of Executive Committee Member of the National AOMSI body for two terms and, until his passing, was serving as the Honorary Secretary of the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Branch. His administrative acumen, sincerity, and tireless efforts significantly strengthened the association and its activities.
A visionary in his field, he was one of the earliest maxillofacial surgeons in India to specialize in microvascular surgery. He travelled extensively across the country, selflessly training colleagues and students in microvascular surgery and oncological reconstruction, leaving behind a legacy of surgical excellence that will continue to benefit patients and professionals alike.
Dr. Senthil Murugan was a mentor, guide, and inspiration to innumerable young surgeons. To his colleagues and peers, he was a dependable friend with an amiable, gentle personality, always approachable, always ready to help, and always standing firm for what was right.
His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled — in our association, in our academic institutions, and in our hearts. We have lost not just an outstanding surgeon, but a teacher who shaped futures, a leader who served selflessly, and a friend who touched lives with kindness.
The AOMSI Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Branch extends its deepest condolences to his family, students, colleagues, and friends. We pray that his noble soul attains eternal peace and that his legacy continues to live on through the countless lives he healed, taught, and inspired.
Gone from our sight, but forever in our hearts.
With deepest sorrow,
Office Bearers and Members,
